Beginner’s Guide To Important Supplies For Bonsai Trees

Taking care of a bonsai is a rewarding hobby. There are a few supplies you’ll need for this hobby. Keep reading to learn about some of the most important supplies for bonsais.

Wire

Your bonsai tree won’t look its best unless you shape it. This is why you’ll need some wire. This will help you keep the bent branches in place. This wire normally comes in either aluminum or copper. Aluminum is lighter and much easier for beginner to use. However, copper is the stronger metal, so you’ll need thinner wire to keep stronger branches in place. While you’re getting wire, don’t forget to get a pair of fine wire cutters.

Pot

Unless you’re going to plant your tree directly in the ground, you’ll also need a pot. The pot should be large enough to contain the length of the tree’s branches. It’s also important that the pot provide proper drainage. If you’re going to use the pot outside, make sure it isn’t made of material that can be frozen.

Shears

You will need to prune your tree at least once a year. This will help the tree remain healthy and beautiful by getting rid of unsightly leaves and dead branches. Therefore, you need to keep a small and large pair of garden shears on hand. You could also use fine scissors if you wanted to.

There is also yet another option for pruning. You can shear branches using a special tool called a concave pruner. A concave pruner will cause less damage, so the branches will heal twice as fast.

There are many things you need to learn before trying to grow these trees. Luckily for you, you can start learning everything you need to know right now. So, make sure you stop by to learn all about bonsai tree care.
